Question by Ashlyn ♥: What did Albert Einstein discover that relates to the atom/structure of the atom? I am doing a timeline for Chemistry that orders scientists and their atomic discoveries and I can not find anything that Albert Einstein discovered that has a relation to the atom. Is the theory of relativity something to do with it? Best answer:
Answer by Macrocompassion
It is not to do with relativity. I suggest you look up his Nobel-Prize winning subject on the photoelectric effect. Here the photons strike the atoms and displace some of the electrons. It provided a way to learn about these electrons which had been guessed at but their existence not demonstrated at that time.
