Question by Sunday: In what historical context did Einstein publish his work?
In what kind of atmosphere did Einstein first publish his paper on the theory of relativity in 1905? Also, what events, ideas, or attitudes existed from 1905 – 1921 that allowed for a huge overhaul in the scientific world? My textbook says that it is the “age of anxiety,” but the explanation on what it actually is is very vague.
