Question by tonygrate: What are the most common theories posited by popular science to explain how evolution crossed Einstein’s Gulf?
As a layman, and a Christian, I am interested to know what theories are tossed about in the world of science, from an evolutionary worldview, that try to explain the problem of Einstein’s Gulf. Moreover, how is it that humans developed awareness? Different problems, but I’m guessing the theories for both are similar.

What problems with the gulf?
It was an idea spoken of to show the seperation between the creative, abstract imagination and the logical, hard set world around us
We have 2 brains joined into one and 1 is a creative, “crazy” one that has no limits or understanding of reality…the other is a law and order empirical thinker using reason and facts.
These 2 brains are joined in the bridge which lets the 2 talk to each other hence giving the order side access to chaos thoughts and putting them in order to discover a pattern while at same time allowing chaos to see facts and come up with a radical idea about what to do/what causes them.
As for how people got awareness I assume you mean a higher level of cognative ability as animals are “aware” of the world.
Research shows that when humans evolved the ability to eat more protein that it acted like rocket fuel for brain growth and that greater brain mass to body ration allowed for evolution of more complex brain layers above previous levels
such as the basic brain structure all animals tend to share
the “reptialian” brain stem which controls life functions and basic survival
then mammals got the limbic system which allowed for emotion, behavior, long term memory, and olfaction
then humans got our frontal lobes which give us a 3rd level so that we can control and affect the other parts of the brain such as the ability to filter our emotions or control our biorythems
