Question by rurouni: Best Baby Einstein DVDs (or other suggestions) to buy my daughter for her 1st birthday?
She has hand-me-down DVDs of Shakespeare: World of Poetry, Monet: Seasons and Baby McDonald. She gets to watch one a day in order to make her last longer until nap time. She loves Shakespeare, likes McDonald and is OK with Monet, although she gets a bit bored with the longer sequences. I have certificate to Amazon from my credit card points, so I figure I can buy maybe three or four if I get them used. Which do you think would be the best, given her tastes, and last her the longest?
Any other suggestions for must-have toys or books? She is a board book fanatic, but is gnawing them every time a tooth comes in, so I’m kind of holding off on buying more right now.

We really like the Brainy Baby DVDs…especially Left Brain and Right Brain. But my kids really like all of them and have learned a LOT.
There is a little book that has been super popular with all my kids when they were her age, and since she likes Baby McDonald she should like it! It’s a little chunky book called “Open the Barn Door” – very cute, and it fits in their hands.
